birthday suit

No, it isn’t THAT type of birthday suit you are thinking of, lol! I initially set to publish this post last Tuesday, on my birthday but I ended up not being able to, for reasons that are irrelevant now. Since I had already begun working on it, I decided to just go with the title I had chosen for it and also for sentimental birthday reasons.  As much as I want to deny it, autumn/fall is upon us! I have started wearing lighter coats and jackets and have slowly brought out my cold-weather appropriate dresses, this blue/purple dress being one of them. I love a classic shift dress that never goes out of style as they are the easiest to wear! Shift dresses are almost like blank palettes that you can play around with – dress it up or down, accessorize it (or not), wear it for summer, fall or all year round, whatever it is that you wish to do with it, the dress won’t complain and also won’t betray you after a big, hearty lunch! Haha.  I really think a flattering shift dress is a must in every woman’s closet. Trust me when I say that this can easily become your best  friend on days that you feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear!

As always, thank you so much for reading and see you on my next post!

paint splatter

First off, I just want to say sorry for being MIA lately. As with every single one of us, life happens  and we get caught up in how hectic, stressful, crazy, overwhelming  things are at times (is it okay to say this on a fashion blog? Lol) .  Needless to say, we try to get back to the normalcy of things so here I am as I try to get back on track with the things that I love doing.  Second, excuse the title of this post, lol. I have not a drop of creative juice left in my brain right now and really, doesn’t this dress/top look like it has paint splatter all over it?? On to a more blog-related discussion, this top was actually sold as a dress but I guess for  a tall person such as moi, it isn’t. Have you ever bought something where you fell so in love with how it looks but unsure of how to really wear it BUT ended up getting it anyway? Well, this is one of those buys. I knew I couldn’t wear this as a dress, obviously because I do not want to be arrested for indecent exposure, duh. Hahaha.  So my go-to solution for fashion dilemmas  such as this, wear it as a top! I think it works… it does because I have no other choice. Lol. Sorry for this very unhelpful fashion post, I hope y’all got a good laugh from it, though!
As always, thank you so much for reading and see you on my next post!

culottes

Here is something we do not see everyday. One that I certainly do not currently have in my closet and has kind of a funny sounding name, to me at least. I know in the past years I have owned a pair of culottes or two and I remembered always gravitating towards them. So when I saw these at Zara, I thought hmmm what a cute print and I secretly have been wanting to rock a pair since summer began (at this point, I refuse to talk about the impending cold weather, so please let us save that on another blog post. Lol!)  I like the fact that they pretend to look like a skirt from a far but up close, they are actually aren’t. I have worn this at work and it certainly has been a good conversation piece, eliciting both positive and negative comments (“hey that’s cute”/ “what the heck are you wearing”). Either way, I wanted it so I am wearing it. It is comfortable, different and they remind me of my younger years. Hahaha.
Thank you so much for reading and see you on my next post!
