ikat

To be honest, I would never be caught dead  wearing a dress or a skirt WITHOUT any tights in the middle of October in Seattle… but these pictures were shot earlier.  There. That is my excuse. Kidding  aside, this dress is one of my favorite Fall-appropriate dresses that I own. Not that it is a heavy, heat insulating fabric nor is it warm enough to be worn on it’s own when the temperature drops but this Ikat print just makes me think of Fall, don’t ask me why. I usually wear this with black tights and heels or booties, kind of that staple cold-weather outfit for us that try to dress up in unfavorable conditions.  I sometimes find myself too lazy to accessorize at this time of the year because all the pretty accessories just tend to get buried underneath a pile of massive scarves and bulky coats but I just had to throw in this chunky necklace to make this outfit less boring.

As always, thank you so much for reading and see you on my next post!

lace shorts

Shorts are a rarity in my closet as I much prefer dresses over them during the summer but I decided to go for these because I couldn’t stop looking at them and kept taking them back with me to the fitting room! So I finally decided to pull the trigger with the idea that I would walk around the house in them for a few hours and see how I feel. Well, it turned out that I have almost completely forgotten about them as they have been sitting in my closet for over a month now. Time to bust these babies out, I guess.  I’m not entirely smitten with these but too late to return hahaha, the good thing about them is that they are black which are easy to style. I decided to go the black and white route as it makes them less casual than what shorts normally are and I’m quite happy with the turnout.  In case you are wondering, I threw in that random photo in the very end of me wearing flats, I initially wore flats with them but decided I wanted to dress it up a bit with a nicer looking heel.  Either way, this outfit is idiot proof--- no thinking required!

almost summer

Seattle has been quite the moody one lately.  It can’t seem to make up it’s mind on what it wants to be, chilly  in the morning so you bundle up somewhat, but as soon as you step out of your building at the end of a work day, you realize that you are inappropriately dressed for what the weather has turned out to be… oh well! Lol. Nevertheless, summer is next week and we all just need to bust out those sweet, summery colors. One of my favorite things about the sun being out is being able to wear skirts and dresses again and the feeling of satisfaction when heavy winter clothes are finally being stashed away! So here is the beginning of my hopefully color-filled and vibrant summer. Wait.. on second thought, I don’t wanna be ripped for wearing black with my fun skirt, so scratch that idea! I’ll begin when it really starts to legitimately feel like summer around here. J

blushin' and distressin'

I think this title is corny. Lol. It cracks me up that deep down, this title makes me somewhat cringe and giggle at the same time, hahaha.  Enough about that!  I have I always referred to this blazer  as my blush blazer and the jeans, well, they are obviously distressed jeans (so popular right now!), hence the title. I snagged mine from a consignment store for just $10… $10!!! Such a steal, I was ecstatic! I was thinking of how I personally wanted to style my jeans and decided to go the “unstructured” route. I tried a few tops that one would’ve instinctively pick to pair with these jeans but after a few futile, dissatisfying attempts, I thought well maybe I can make this loose, asymmetrical Asos top and an equally loose blazer work with a really casual pair of jeans…. I think I just did. J Turned out to be a good day after all.

pink pants

Despite my few number of posts, by now you would've noticed that I do a lot of shopping at HM. Now before you start hating on my deal-searching tactics when it comes to shopping, let me share that this entire outfit was on sale at HM last year from a random drop in at their impressive union square store in San Francisco ( I officially give you all the more reason to hate on my stinginess hahaha!).  The trick for me about randomly perusing sale racks is to search for a trendy article of clothing that i want to dare try or something totally out of my comfort zone. As far as I know, I do not like wearing pink. Or at least that is what I have always told myself. When I came across  this pair of hot pink pants, I noncommitally told myself, hmmm I think maybe I can pull this off and a few minutes later, I saw this beautiful floral sweater that was so perfect for spring and decided that I scored and found an outfit. So the next time you scour a sale rack on a mall trip born out of boredom, maybe try taking an adventurous plunge of purchasing a deal of something you think you would never think of wearing.

lincoln park

Second post, here we go! Trying to get the ball rolling as much as I can, so please bear with me and my procrastinating ways, haha!  It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon in Seattle, after a dreary start to the day, so I decided to drag my trusty photographer/cousin Tim and headed to Lincoln Park, because, well, Seattlelites and Parks are a given on a sunny day. We tried to take photos that would showcase the scenic views and share it with everyone but it just was not working out, sorry about that! So for now, you are stuck with a brick wall and me… and some greenery.

I have been dabbling  with mixing  prints since last year, nothing too drastic but just articles of clothing or colors that complement  each other.  It feels like stepping out of my comfort zone  but only taking baby steps, so don’t expect me don a full on Lady gaga inspired outfit in the near future… No. haha!  I decided that adding a neutral shoe helps to tone down how busy an outfit looks so that is what I did here. :)

I just want to say thank you for everyone that took a little bit of time out of their busy lives to read my blog. I greatly appreciate the love! Shout out to my cousin Gea and my brother Naz for helping my technologically illiterate brain understand possibly 3% of what has been done to this blog so far! :)

Thanks for reading!!! :)
